General Joe Enlightens PCMs on Various Security Techniques
The 2021 Batch B Stream 1 Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) had an interactive session with General Joe Komolafe (Rtd) on Saturday as the security veteran analyzed prompt and helpful information on handling security challenges.
The talk took place in the Multipurpose Hall of the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede,
He went further to discuss solutions to security threats such as being conscious of one’s environment, being conversant with the do’s and dont’s of the land, blending well with neighbors, keeping away from drug abuse and its users, avoiding a flashy and flamboyant lifestyle, identifying and locating security agencies stations in the immediate area of residence.
Gen. Joe called on the prospective corps members to be courageous even in the face of challenges as this will help them to think and act rationally and intelligently rather than acting on impulse out of fear. He charged them to embrace all the tips the NYSC scheme has made available to them for their security and wellbeing during the service year.
He stressed on the need for the corps members to be friendly and humble in relating with the people of their host community. According to him, this will go a long way in endearing them to the people thereby making the community come to their aid whenever they need help.
Komolafe concluded by lauding the scheme for putting together such lectures which he said has over the years assisted corps members security wise during and after the service year.
