OLODE OF 15 YEARS AGO FAR BETTER THAN OUR PRESENT MOMENT, SO TELL OUR LEADERS THEY’RE NOT GOD.
I was a graduate of Al-furqaan International College which I have represented the college at different competition during my time in the college and in line with every competition I’ve carried the emblem of Olode community more than four times both local government and state level.
I could remembered that during each competition which i participated, the moderator will always confirm the attendance by calling the name of each participants with their school’s name and where the school is located.
But the constant thing I noticed during each competition is that most of the students from the neighboring communities do criticize the participants from olode.
As a student brought up with progressive mind, I always felt that coming from olode has never be a barrier and rather it has waved me up against all challenges and all criticism and besides at that moment I always believed that if not all olode endowed with some of the social amenities in the Ife then.
What baffled me most was how our Leaders forgot so soon that they are men not God
It’s very vivid and pertinent that about 15years ago, our community is far better than the present moment we found ourselves. Many would be wondering how? And Why?
If you can recall very well, that under the leadership of our so Leaders all our social amenities has depreciated
We’ve once has electricity in the community but now it’s no more in existence in which our government leaders that are meant to be in the communication with can not even pass a night all because they can’t sleep without electricity.
We’ve once has tap water situated at different areas of the community, but now it has become history of olode.
Years ago, some institution in this country has came to olode to have an affiliation program of their institution to some of the school in olode but all doesn’t work at the end of the day because our leaders has never provide a lively and conducive environment for us to live.
As an awolowo town we bears, I will like to use from the words chief Obafemi Awolowo that says “The children of the poor you failed to train will never let you own children have peace”
To we the youth and the Students’ Union body, we should remember that the freedom we enjoyed today in this country was fought by youths of our age then. It’s time for us to challenge and fight for the development of our community so as to save our very own generation and the upcoming generation because a lot oproduct and talent from olode has wasted and many are in the track to waste. Let’s all come together as a formidable team so as to challenge the authority that shows less concerned to the development of our community.
To the incumbent Governor of the state of osun, I hope you could remember that you emerged as the winner of the governorship election through the re-run election which the impact of olode community can never be overlook. Sir, we’ve done our democratic duty which it’s time for you to deliver your responsibility.
On the final note, I want all the leaders directing the affairs of olode to remember that nobody wants to be poor in life, it’s God that decide who is to be rich or poor. The rich leaders of yester years, where are they? Where is Abba kyari? Where is Abiola Ajimobi? Where is Issa Funtua? Where is senators Oshinowo? Where is Buruji Kashamu? Where did these people place their wealth, awards, accolades when there’s no space for them to even turn their sides in grave? There men are not burried with their riches, they were men not God
Until you all dance to our tone and provide our need shall I continue to inform and motivate, only when you dance to our tone shall I continue to consolidate
