BREAKING : English Premier League Set To Resume From June 17th (Details)
The English Premier League (EPL) is all set to resume from June 17, with Manchester City facing Arsenal in one of the first matches to be played, the Daily Telegraph reported. The news comes following Thursday’s meeting regarding ‘Project Restart’ relating to England’s top flight.
Premier League’s 20 clubs had a meeting and around three weeks of ‘contact training’ was done to prepare the players for the season to restart.
While the first clash is crucial, the second-midweek clash is between Aston Villa and Sheffield United.
According to the reports, the two matches are the ‘games in hand’ that were left unplayed prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Up to 29 games amongst 20 clubs will be played with the remaining 90 fixtures scheduled in a sex-week period. The matches will be played over seven weekends and two rounds of midweek fixtures, before the league season is completed on the weekend of August 1-2
As for the FA Cup Final, that would be scheduled for the following Saturday – August 8.
